Today marks the ten year anniversary of the first post on Daring Fireball. If you dig up the Internet Archive copy of the first post you are greeted with a page layout and style almost entirely unchanged over the ten year run.
Creating a brand with that much endurance is a feat almost as impressive as the writing itself. The trademark star (✪) and #4a525a gray are now a part of the Apple pop culture. This kind of brand endurance reminds me a lot of other long standing franchises like the Nike Swoosh or the pinstripes of the NY Yankees.
